Peaches are done for 2025
Well, it has to end at some point. Peaches are done for the year. We received a load of "last picked" last Friday, 9-5, and they are not very good. Very low sugar content, which is common for the last-picked. People are buying them, and we have discounted them to $ 3.00/lb. They use them in all kinds of ways. These that we have now are not our usual outstanding! unbelievable! peaches. Just so you know that. But when peaches end..... It’s just the peaches that end. It is full harvest in Colorado for the next few weeks, and the produce is absolutely FABULOUS! Sweet corn, cucumbers, pickles, roasted chili, and green beans are plentiful and at their best of the season.
It is also now the best time for apples and pears! Both from Palisade and it's their time to shine. We have a large variety of both and will have till they are done. Rocky Ford Cantaloupes have another week or 2, and they are the best of the season. And yes, our Grand Junction Tomatoes are still coming in .... the best tomatoes ever per usual. Our shelves and tables are loaded with the plentiful harvest. There are just no more peaches...
This is transition time here as we try to follow the harvest and our pumpkins... The Pumpkin Patch will magically appear toward the end of this month, and then the entire month of October.
Till then, though, please swing by and enjoy really, really good Colorado Produce. The farmers really count on this time to make their season. We do too.
*** A special note: If you were in our store last Friday evening or early Saturday ....9/5 & 9/6 and purchased peaches. For the first time this season, I didn't taste test my load on Friday evening. Didn't do that till almost noon or later on Saturday. S0.... if you got some not-so-good peaches, please come back in so we can make it right with you.
